Margam Archers was founded in September 1986 by Pat Baddeley, Vic Nicolas and the now deceased Rex Baddeley and Bill Farrant. The club's home ground is the beautiful Margam Country Park. Five indoor venues have to date been it's winter base. For the last 7 years our indoor venue has been Tondu Cricket Club.
That the Club has maintained consistent growth over the years to its present membership level is attributable to its main watchword camaraderie. Which is not to say that the club does not have a serious approach to shooting.

Over the years it has boasted a Grand Master Bowman, Junior Master Bowman, British International, British Champions / Welsh Champions.Ladies British distance record holder and a Junior distance record holder. Also a County Coach and Archery Judge. Though predominantly a Longbow club, we also cater for all bows from Compound, Recurve, American or any type of Flat bow, also Mongolian, the list goes on. In the discipline of the Longbow the Club and has the services of several Bowyers who are members of the Craft Guild of Traditional Bowyers and Fletchers.

Cwmi Cymreig y Bwa, The Welsh Longbow Society, was Founded at Margam Park; The Clerk of the Company is a member of Margam Archers, and with members help and in Conjunction with the British Longbow Society stages two of the most attractive longbow competitions on the calendar in May and September each year.
